Background:
At bti, we have always firmly believed in empowering women, because an empowered woman inspires generations of others to step out of the shadows. In 2022, Our “Stellar Women” initiative was first conceptualized, promoting women’s empowerment amongst the masses. Through this initiative, we wanted to appeal to all Bangladeshi women out there who have made major positive contributions for the betterment of our society from their respective fields of work, recognizing exemplary trailblazers and giving them a platform to showcase their achievements, an opportunity to broaden their networks, as well as a financial incentive to work as motivation to further fuel their efforts.
Objective
- To make bti and “bti The Daily Star Stellar Women” household brands that people relate to in a positive manner, particularly in association with women’s empowerment
- To give women who are working behind the scenes in their respective fields a chance to come forward and be recognized for their talents & achievements
- To create a collaborative network for these Stellar Women to grow and expand the scope of their work, as well as to socialize with to create opportunities for themselves, their organizations and their peers/ peer groups
- To give financial assistance to the 12 winners of each year, which could go a long way in helping further their career efforts
- For bti and The Daily Star to work in conjunction to allow women to “Spark Their Inner Power!” as part of working for the community and for the betterment of society
